As part of Dementia Alliance, we are providing
information sessions to service groups, business
groups and local government services to assist in
making them more Dementia Friendly.
Our presenters donate their time to these sessions
and are passionate about spreading the need for
understanding and tolerance for families that are
on the Dementia Journey. Recent medical
research points to early detection as key to
slowing the progress of Dementia, so creating an
awareness of Dementia signs is important.
We include information about appropriate
Government websites, help available from council,
HealthAbility and other aged care providers and
other services that might be helpful.
If you are a member of an organisation that might
be interested in becoming a Dementia Friend we’d
love to hear from you.
We will have a presence at:
Dementia ActionWeek
International Day of Disabled Persons
Victorian Seniors Festival
As with most things we need support for the
sessions to run. The costs are not huge but we
could do with some help. We are applying for
grants from government and other sources of
funding and if you can help it would be greatly
appreciated.
As our cafes in Hurstbridge, Diamond Creek and
Eltham expand we hope to raise sufficient money
to buy a Tovertafel. Its too amazing to describe so
have a look at the website.

I have seen it in action and it’s amazing how
people are drawn in.
Tovertafel is going to be a major expense.
