Memory Care Cafe

The Memory Care Cafés are where you can download and relax. We all arrive about 1:30pm in various states of disrepair and leave at 3:00pm somewhat patched up by the sense of community and fortified with information and survival tips.

If you decide to try our Memory Care Cafes be comforted by the fact that everyone, from the organisers of activities for your partner, to the volunteers serving you with drinks and cake, has “lived experience” of the journey with dementia. healthAbility (a Government provider) are at the Cafes to provide a range of fun and distracting activities for your partner/parent/friend while you can enjoy 11/2 hours of understanding and acceptance. If you are able to come alone then come.

The Cafes provide a place for people to share their experiences. There’s a good chance, that you’ve already been besieged with seemingly endless information and confusing web sites. We will be there to help you through the maze you’re facing. We try to keep abreast of medical developments and these are shared at the Cafes.

You will find relief to be among others who understand the frustrations found in “the system” and the sadness that envelops when you realise that relationships enjoyed in the past have ebbed away.
